Coleciono coquetéis vistos em filmes desde a década de 1980. Por volta de 1933, duas coisas coincidiram; O fim da Lei Seca e Hollywood lançando “talkies” (filmes onde você podia ouvir os atores falando). Greta Garbo foi uma grande estrela do cinema mudo na década de 1920 e mudou seu filme falado em 1930. Seus fãs ficaram muito animados ao ouvir sua voz pela primeira vez, e a equipe de marketing atiçou o fogo anunciando o evento com o slogan “Garbo Talks!” Além disso, quais foram suas primeiras palavras, você pergunta? “Me dê um uísque, ginger ale ao lado.”

É informativo saber que a primeira vez que as mulheres foram autorizadas a entrar na sala principal dos bares (e não apenas no pequeno “Ladies' Bar” para mulheres proeminentes) foi na década de 1920, durante a Lei Seca.
